actually, to get into the cook off you just buy a ticket at the line at reliant arena.

to get into the booths someone gives them to you.

Not worth going if you don't have an in to one of the tents. If you do, its pretty awesome. I went for the first time last year & am hoping tickets come thru again this year. Was pretty awesome.

oh i agree. just saying you can get into the cookoff no problem, it's getting into the tents is where the hookup comes through. think i've gone every year for the last 5 or 6 years. then again, can't remember if i went last year or not. but i know that i've been more than a handfull of times.

Yes it does. IMO, it's a waste of time if you don't have pass into a tent. Just a bunch of vendors and stuff outside the tents.

never been to the actual cook off itself, like where the actual judging takes place. but really the only time people go up there is for the parties at night. outside of the tents you got a carnival and that's about it.

The Cook-off itself isn't all that bad. There are people selling tasty BBQ and beer and stuff, but it's a lot more fun if you have access to a tent to have live music, free food and cheap or free beer.

There is a reasonable amount of stuff to do if you don't have any tent passes, but I agree, it only becomes really fun when you get a few passes. What day are you going, I might be able to hook you up.

i'm getting a pass for a tent from a friend (who got it from his work). we're going on Saturday. i've never been and I'm looking forward to it. what time do things start getting fun? we were thinking of going in the early afternoon but it sounds like it gets better after dark.
