For all it's culinary goodness, Houston does lack in the Eye-talian restaurants. Most of the ones mentioned in this thread are good, and you can't really go wrong. Just the great spot or spots aren't here. Lots of average to good, but nothing stellar, which is a shame. Have fun and congrats on the big 5!

i always thought the same thing. i dont really have an all time favorite italian restaurant because nothing in this city is spectacular. fred's is priobably as good as it gets imo.

i dunno, i think antica is pretty fucking great. i haven't had anything there i didn't find to be amazingly good.
